Center City Philadelphia has been transformed into a vibrant, expanding 21st-century downtown. The Center City District Foundation seeks to build on this success with new projects that enhance downtown gateways, establish signature boulevards, create new neighborhood amenities and enhance existing  CCD-managed parks with cultural and educational programming for all age groups. Building on today’s optimism, the CCDF is a reliable conduit to achieve high quality results, to support the continued transformation of Philadelphia’s downtown and to create new job opportunities.

Ambassadors of Hope

To address the significant increase in panhandling and homelessness on Center City sidewalks in the last several years, the CCD funded and launched on April 23, 2018 a six-month, sustained, focused and cooperative outreach program in partnership with Project Home and the Philadelphia Police.

Wintergarden

Since 2016, CCD has installed its popular Wintergarden—a green sanctuary during the cold winter months—in Dilworth Park. Open and free to the public from November to early April, the Wintergarden features more than 100 varieties of native plants, trees, and grasses, playful topiary, a new rustic arbor, and plenty of opportunities for families and friends to safely spend quality time together.

Sister Cities Park

CCDF raised funds to transform Sister Cities Park into a beautiful family-friendly destination in Center City. CCDF is currently raising funds for additional signature play opportunities in the park.
